imby – in my back yard

The latest news with imby is we’re now in more cities than Madison.  Well, we are getting started in a few more cities would be more accurate.

We’re starting with 4 cities.

Other than Boulder, we chose these cities because that is where current imby members live.  We’re choosing Boulder because it is a smaller city with a vibrant tech and startup community – a place we think would be particularly interested in something like imby.  We’ll see how that goes.

Changes to @imby on Twitter

Mostly, this change won’t mean anything different to the web experience of imby.  What is different is the twitter feeds.  We will tweet out all new members, events and jobs on the @imby twitter account, which you likely follow right now.  Consider that the full on fire hose of all things imby.  You probably won’t want to follow this.  For each new market, there is a specific twitter feed.

We’ve started publishing the imby events calendar in an ics feed. 

What this means to you?

If you use Google calendar or MS Outlook, you can now subscribe to the imby events feed and any event in imby will automagically appear in your calendar alongside your other calendar items, like this image from my google calendar:
